The
track :
Texas
Motor Speedway is a superspeedway located in the northernmost
portion of the U.S. city of Fort Worth, Texas - the portion
located in Denton County, Texas. The track layout is very
similar to Atlanta Motor Speedway and Lowe's Motor Speedway
(formerly Charlotte Motor Speedway). The track measures 1.5
miles around and is banked 24 degrees in the turns, and is
of the quad-oval design, where the front straightaway juts
outward slightly.
Marco Andretti made his Texas debut last year and said: "I'm
excited to race at Texas Motor Speedway. I know it’s
a fast track and it will be my first experience with
'pack' racing. Every week I seem to encounter something
new and this weekend will be no different. The NYSE team
has done a great job preparing cars for me and I have
no doubt that the NYSE car will be competitive again
this week."

"Setting
up a car for Texas is always a challenge. The track's high-banked turns allow
the driver to remain full-throttle the entire lap and results in 'pack' racing.
The challenge is in trimming as much aerodynamic drag from the car as possible,
yet keeping the car drivable when it is in the middle of a pack of cars."
